Tonight at approximately 7:00 pm PST, Day of Defeat version 1.1 beta is being released exclusively on Steam for a limited period of time. Once we've completed a short testing phase, 1.1 will be available both through Steam and as a "traditional" patch for non-Steam players.
This is the first update to DoD since its retail release, so there are lots of additions and fixes included in this new version. Here is a partial rundown of what's included:
New map dod_flugplatz
New map dod_escape
New map dod_switch
Full vgui2 menu system and updated ingame browser
9-way player animation blending
New map marking system, markers placed from first person, show up on minimap
Toned down the death cam, doesn't overlay the killer's name and doesn't last as long
Special effects optimization
Many bug fixes and weapon tweaks
